The kidney is a paired, bean-shaped organ responsible for excretion. According to its function, it removes the breakdown products formed during metabolism, filters and purifies the blood, and regulates the body’s water balance and arterial blood pressure. In addition to the end products of nitrogen metabolism (urea, creatinine, uric acid), it also removes certain foreign substances – xenobiotics -, some inactivated hormones and drugs from the body. Normal products of metabolism (lactic acid, glucose, ketone bodies) are also excreted when their concentration exceeds the required (physiological) value.

The results of the kidney function laboratory test alone are not yet sufficient to make a diagnosis. If your complaints persist, our experienced internal medicine specialists are at your disposal.
How do I prepare for the test?
Kidney function laboratory testing does not require an empty stomach, and a sample from the first morning urine. It is not recommended to perform the test during menstruation.
When is the result expected?
After the 2nd working day after the test.
